Committed to the Environment
For over 50 years, Bob-Leon has been a responsible member of the global community. As our manufacturing has grown into a regional network, our concern for our impact on the environment has become an increasingly important part of our culture.
The fact is, environmental responsibility is a part of us. Bob-Leon has always strived to be a “Green” company. We are a fully functioning “recycle friendly” manufacturing plant.
POLLUTION PREVENTION AWARD WINNER, 1997
In September 1997, we were selected by the Sacramento Area Pollution Prevention Committee, Environmental Management Department, The Public Works Agency, The Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District, The Business Environmental Resource Center (BERC), the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors and the State of California to receive the Pollution Prevention Award for our proactive efforts to identify reliable water based adhesives for our kitchen countertop manufacturing.
Through this endeavor, we achieved compliance in advance of anticipated air regulations which resulted in a significant reduction in volatile organic compounds, improved air quality in the work place, a reduction in hazardous material usage and the creation of a safer work environment.
Partnering With CARB and LEED
We are a member of the FSC®, the Forest Stewardship Council, an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
With the introduction of the new Bob-Leon Green line of commercial and residential countertops, we provide products that maximize LEED project points, using formaldehyde free substrates and low VOC glues and adhesives. Bob-Leon can build any “Green” project without compromising design or quality.
We are also a SMUD “Green Power Partner”, supporting the development of renewable energy, and we use CARB (California Air Resource Board) compliant products ahead of the required schedule and participate in many LEED certified projects. We continuously look for new avenues and ways to be “Green.â€
